Project – Ultra-modern new home with lots of glazing, Ollie Wood Manor – Preston
Location – Blinds/tracks/curtains fitted to all internal windows
Products Used –Motorised Roller Blinds with Blackout fabric –switched from the client KNX Home automation system by Intecho. Motorised Curtain tracks and 80mm wave curtains in Voile fabric to the ground floor expansive glazing. Motorised Roller Blinds with Screen fabrics for the Gym.
Client’s requirements – The client was building a new ultra-modern home on the outskirts of Preston over-looking the countryside with views and was using large amounts of glazing to create the perfect open plan environment for maximising this aspect. Our role was to provide shading solutions to compliment the stylish Contemporary design but not to detract from or black the glazing other than when needed.
Solution – On this occasion it was not possible for the Architect to design recess boxes for the bedroom blackout roller blind fabrics to retract into so we provided white powder coated aluminium cassette boxes to hide the blinds and to blend into the surrounding window frames. We also provided motorised tracks and Sheer wave curtains for the ground floor glazing. The tracks were recessed into the ceiling to again avoid them being in view when the curtains were stacked back. The main lounge curtains also stacked back against a wall to one side of glazing to both avoid the curtains obscuring the glazing and also creating a featured fabric wall.
